17/10/2015: We had not visited here for a number of years as the last time was in the height of a hot summer and the restaurant was extremely warm as the air con was not working, however as we are here in October we decided to give it another try. They now use the bar area to eat as well as the restaurant at the back, the menu is still in the same format, a set price of €13.50 with the Chef giving you 4 starters (tapas) and then a soup course with a main course from the menu and then a desert, included in the price is half a bottle of wine or soft drink, beer or water and coffee. It is great value but the tapas may not be to every bodies liking, my wife had the roast pork which was very tasty with a nice piece of crackling and some apple sauce, I had the Sole Waleska which was a good portion and very tasty, we had very nice fresh vegetables of peas, carrots and cabbage and baked potatoes finished with plenty of butter, there was a large selection of sweets which were home made and very nice flavours. The place is certainly popular being fully booked most services, the Chef/Patron is a very clever and experienced caterer who gives the public what they want at a fixed price, however the trade off for this is lack of quality to give the quantity and he now appears not to do the actual service himself but leave it to his trained staff in the kitchen. We enjoyed the meal and I stress again that it is fantastic value but if you enjoy great food presented well then you may be disappointed, if you are on a budget then this really is the place for you. Steaks are extra and appeared to be of good quality but obviously this increases the price sharply. The atmosphere in the place was good and the staff very pleasant and efficient although there was a long wait between soup and main course, it was not warm in the bar area but the air con still appeared to be not working.
