21/04/2024: I have eaten a few times here during the past 3 months. The experience is very patchy. I thought this should be the place to go, supporting the local fishermen, having the benefit of the freshest produce available - straight from the trawler…
Well..
It all seems to depend on the mood (or the shifts) of the service staff. It can easily happen that you come to the restaurant, be greeted cheerfully and being asked to take a seat at a table. Menu is coming, order is taken, all fine. Next week, you try to ask for a table, you’re being ignored, you choose a table by yourself, and being ignored again for 20 minutes with very few other clients around.
I can handle that.
What’s a bit disappointing is the inconsistency in food quality. Given the obvious advantage for the restaurant to have access to the freshest produce available, my take is that they don’t really appreciate this luxury. I had nice and fresh grilled sardines. I los hd a seafood stew that was so overcooked and dry that I would presume that none of the ingredients were actually fresh and cooked a point. I also had a portion of spaghetti with shrimps and garlic where it was quite obvious that those shrimps were anything but fresh.
